What Markito does to keep the people on it safe, and what it does not do yet. This page describes what is built today, not what a marketplace usually promises.
Sellers are verified by a person
A seller who wants to be paid sends an identity document and a photograph of themselves. A moderator looks at both and decides. It is not an automatic check, and a case can be refused with a reason the seller is told.
What a verified badge means
That we checked who they are, and nothing more. It is not a promise about the goods, the price or the delivery, and it is not a rating: that is the separate top rated badge, which comes from other buyers.
You can block anybody
Blocking works both ways: neither of you sees the other's listings, and neither can message the other. We never tell them, and you can undo it in Settings.
Your account is yours to keep
Two-factor authentication is one switch in Settings, signing in from a new device asks for a code, and anything sensitive asks again even on a device you trust. You can see every signed-in device and end any of them.
We will never ask you for a code
Not by email, not by message, not on the phone. Every code we send is for you to type into Markito yourself. Anybody asking you to read one out is not us, whatever the message looks like.
What is not here yet
There is no escrow, no buyer protection scheme and no dispute process on Markito today. Payments, orders and messaging are still being built, and this page will say so plainly when each of them arrives. Until then, treat a purchase here the way you would treat one arranged anywhere else.
